What Is CEIP?

The CEIP is an innovative financing initiative available to homeowners in Calgary. It offers competitive interest rates and the convenience of repaying through your property’s regular tax bill. Who Can Apply?

• You must be the legal owner of an existing low-rise residential property located in the City of Calgary.
• Your property and project must meet all the requirements listed in the City of Calgary’s CEIP Terms and Conditions.

Eligible Upgrades

• A wide range of energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades qualify under the program.
• To be eligible for financing, the total cost of your upgrades must be a minimum of $3,000.

Financing and Terms

• Enjoy competitive interest rates, with the convenience of repayment through your property tax bill.
• The maximum payment term is 20 years or the effective useful life (EUL) of the upgrades, whichever is less.
• The interest rate for submissions received in 2023 was 2.95%. Rates for 2024 are under review and will be announced before the next application intake.
